A belarus Sergei Kostroma has created a mobile application “Krama”, which helps to determine whether the manufacturing company of a particular product is connected with the incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko or with state-owned companies that harass employees because of their participation in protests.

Investigative Media, Kyrgyzstan
The journalists at Kloop have published outstanding investigative and data work over the past ten years despite being constantly targeted by one of the most corrupt and repressive governments in the world. “I would have killed her anyway” is a great example of advanced data journalism skills employed to investigate and expose one of the most heinous crimes in Kyrgyzstan: Femicide. Kloop shows the extent of the problem and its root causes while being very honest with the public about the limited amount of data that they had access to. This is hard work journalism that will inspire change.

Gwendolyn Sasse has been the Director of ZOiS since October 2016. Since April 2021, she has been Einstein Professor for the Comparative Study of Democracy and Authoritarianism at the Department of Social Sciences of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Prior to that, she was Professor of Comparative Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations and at the Oxford School for Global and Area Studies at the University of Oxford. She is also a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the think tank Carnegie Europe.
